Romance Weekly

For those of you joining us from previous weeks, welcome back! For those of you just joining in, welcome to Romance Weekly where each week a bunch of us authors will answer the same three questions and you get to hop around from blog to blog and learn a little more about us. πŸ™‚ This week’s questions are brought to you by Ronnie Allen. πŸ˜‰ Ready? Let’s do this.

1.Who is your favorite author other than yourself in your genre and why?

This is an easy one. Johanna Lindsey. I’ve been a fan since I was 14 and first read A Gentle Feuding. Over the years, I’ve read more of hers than any others. When I pick up one of her books, I just know I will love it and am swept away every time.

2.What is your favorite book by them and why?

As referenced above, A Gentle Feuding, and it’s probably because that’s the one I read first. It’s certainly why I write Scottish historicals. There’s just something about Jamie and Sheena’s love story that is timeless. I think I’m gonna have to read it again soon. Another one I love love love is Hearts Aflame. Ooooh Ooooh and Man of My Dreams. I could be here all day. πŸ™‚

3.What about their style inspires your writing?

Hmmmm, I’m not sure if it’s her vivid description or intense characters, or maybe a combination, or maybe the smoking hawt steam between the H/h. I’ve always loved Lindsey’s alpha heroes and feisty heroines. They’ve had a definite influence on my writing. She’s written in many settings but my faves are the Scottish and Viking ones. Time to break out some of my old faves again soon. I tip my hat to you Ms. Lindsey. πŸ™‚

So that’s it for me this week. Keep hopping along to see how the multi-talented Kim Handysides answered the questions. Happy Tuesday!!

Love Joanna Lindsay – I, too, devoured her books when I was young. My favourite was A Pirate’s Love! Hmm, maybe it’s time for me to re-visit! Thanks for taking me down memory lane, Kate πŸ™‚
