It’s ok. I’m fine. Deep breath now. I am fully contained once again. Please read my review for 21st Century Rake here and check out my awesome interview with the rock God himself below. 😀
KR: Where are you from?
AC: I’m a creature of the world. Origins don’t make the man.
KR: (sigh) What do you do for a living?
AC: I’m a singer and songwriter.
KR: What do you like about Heart’s Ease?
AC: I love that no one seems to care how many records I’ve sold or awards I’ve won. I’m just another one of the boys around here. It’s fantastic.
KR: What do you wish was different?
AC: I wish the roads were in better shape. These pot holes are more like craters. I’m waiting for the day me and my Audi are swallowed whole.
KR: (snaps fingers) I’ll get someone right on that for you. Is there someone special in your life?
AC: You have no concept of how happy I am to answer this question. Truth be told, there is no one more special to me than Grace Nolan.
KR: She’s a very lucky lady. It’s a good thing I like her. 🙂 What do you like best about her?
AC: Do you have an hour or eight? Grace is honest. She’s perceptive. She’s kind and funny and smart and spectacularly sexy. Because any man who’s with a woman and doesn’t think she’s the sexiest creature on earth is with the wrong woman.
KR: Wow. And sigh. What drives you nuts about her?
AC: I don’t know if it drives me nuts. Well, perhaps it does. She’s positively clueless when it comes to recognizing people. I mean, I’m not trying to sound like a diva, but she had no idea who I was when we met. And we can be watching a film with someone even more famous than me in it, and not have a clue. Oh, here’s an example. She loves those Harry Potter movies. But if she saw Daniel Radcliff somewhere she’d say “There’s Harry Potter.” If I said to her “There’s Daniel Radcliff,” she’d ask, “Who’s that.” For real. No clue.
KR: What’s the worst thing your author has done to you?
AC: I think she’d been pretty good to me, truth be told. She gave me Grace. And she let me redeem myself after my first appearance in Elsie’s story.
KR: Who should play you in the movie adaptation of this novel?
AC: Me! I’m a film star now. Or will be. But there are a few blokes that might do well. I’m a fan of Jim Sturgess, myself. Grace would likely say Ian Somerhalder, or as she put it “That hot vampire from the Vampire Diaries”. And my author thinks perhaps Kit Harrington. God help me Kate if Kit played me. You toss your knickers at me enough now. Add in your Jon Snow obsession and I’d be in real trouble. Or maybe then Kit would get some of your knickers. 😉
KR: No way baby, all my knickers are for you. 😉 Ahem. What were we talking about again? Oh right. The interview. What impression do you want to leave with readers?
AC: Be conscious that people act a certain way when they believe they have a persona to live up to. My stage persona is not the sum of me as a whole.
Well said. 🙂 And thank you for sitting here with me today. I think we did rather well.
Well that sums up the interviews for the week. Soon I’ll be sitting down with the ladies from Victoria’s series to see how they respond to the same questions. Thanks for stopping by!
21st Century Rake, Blurb
Rock superstar Asher Corbin is back in Heart’s Ease. And he’s not alone. This time he’s brought the entire cast and crew for his upcoming film debut to the small town for a retreat back in time to the Regency period.
Grace Nolan is thrilled to go to an honest-to-goodness Regency ball. But there she finds herself at the mercy of her deepest fantasy: a scandalous rake fresh out of the pages of her favourite historical romances.
When Grace claims not to recognize the dashing celebrity, Asher seizes the opportunity to step out of his persona and explore life out of the spotlight. But when she finds out his secret, her response plunges them into a game of seduction neither had expected to find.
