Romance Weekly

Posted by on 17 June, 2014

For those of you joining us from previous weeks, welcome back! For those of you just joining in, welcome to Romance Weekly where each week a bunch of us authors will answer the same three questions and you get to hop around from blog to blog and learn a little more about us. ๐Ÿ™‚ This week’s questions are brought to you by the most fabulous Jami Denise:-) Ready? Let’s do this.

1. When writing your novel, do you know how itโ€™s going to end before you write, or do you write from start to finish?

I’m a panster writing historical romance and so while I may know the ultimate tops of trees outcome of the historical element, I don’t know exactly how the romance will play out except that it will have a HEA. And I love not knowing what will happen until I type the words. ๐Ÿ™‚

2. How do the people you know impact your writing? Are you influenced by friends and family for your characters?

I can’t say there are specific traits from one person in my characters. But as a writer, I love people watching and finding out what makes people tick. So I guess there’s some spillover from the people I know, but I think it’s done at a subconscious level.

3. Describe the hero in your current WIP in three words.

The hero in my current work in progress is Ronan Sutherland from Enemy of the Highlander, book three in my Highland Chiefs series. Three words to describe him? Tormented, honourable, determined. He was a tough hero to write as there was so much to cover in his character arc. I hope I did him justice!!!

And that’s it for me this week. Keep on hippity hoppin over to see how Mishka Jenkins answered the questions. ‘Till next week!

Ooh, I’m hooked on Ronan already!

I’m with you on the people watching thing, Kate. There is so much material out there, I rarely have to use one of my friends or family. But it’s nice to know I can always fall back on them if I want.

I stare at people constantly, but at least we have a good excuse

Knowing it’s going to end HEA is good enough! ๐Ÿ˜€ The rest can come as it pleases.
    Great answers! ๐Ÿ™‚
