Ronan's brooch pin, Enemy of the Highlander, book three Highland Chiefs

Ronan’s brooch pin, Enemy of the Highlander, book three Highland Chiefs

Hey everyone! Been a while since I posted, but I swear I have a good excuse. 🙂 I just finished the second draft of Enemy of the Highlander (EOTH), third book in my Highland Chiefs series. Will be popping that off to beta readers in the coming days and then will submit to my publisher in a couple of weeks. Wish me luck that they all like it!

Writing a series is really awesome, but also really hard. The whole time I was writing EOTH I had to consider everything that came before in the previous two books, plus what will come in the subsequent two.

The middle book, like the middle child, has to live up to everyone else. In that vein, I felt that Ronan had a lot of living up to do which is why he journeys on a path of inner torment. Freya is his match in every way and these two have an explosive chemistry overriding their better judgement on many occasions. There were times I really had no idea how they could possibly have a HEA. But alas, it is a romance novel. 😉

The other project I’m working on is a novella for a bundle to be released in November with a phenomenal group of authors I’m extremely fortunate to be affiliated with. Scratch that. We’ve bonded so quickly, we are like sisters. 😀

The Guardians of Cridhe

The Guardians of Cridhe

The Guardians of Cridhe are Sue-Ellen Wellfonder, Tarah Scott, Lily Baldwin, Ceci Giltenan, Kathryn Lynn Davis, Suzan Tisdale…and me. Yeah I keep pinching myself and thanking the stars to be a part of such a dynamic and talented group. I’M BLESSED!!!

We have a group page on facebook you should really follow, if you don’t already, where we pop in from time to time to talk about the craft and our upcoming project. It’s crazy exciting and there’s only more good things to come!

So that’s what I’ve been up to. Going back under my rock now to finish this novella which, btw, is totally different from the Highland Chiefs series. More news in the coming weeks about the novellas I have planned for HC as well.

Happy Wednesday!!!

As one of the privileged few to have read Enemy of the Highlander, let me tell everyone that this book is going to knock your socks off. It has such a high adventure level, blended with Freya’s….. um, how can I say this delicately… passion. Yea, let’s go with passion. Anyway, this one will show you just how Kate keeps getting better the more she writes (as if she needed improvement, right?!).
